How Prepared Are You For IoT? Let’s figure it out..
Automation: Robotics will become more widespread with the internet of things, IoT. One of the major changes that we can expect to see in the upcoming years is that our lives become simpler and far more comfortable than now. Undoubtedly, in the IoT age, automation will reduce our laborious tasks. In other words, physically, we will have to labour less and we can devote more time to our primary occupations. Of course, we will have more time for relaxation, rejuvenation, rest, and vacations. Here are some examples to understand what life would be like in the next 5 years. So, what can IoT do for you?
In the upcoming years, you can expect your PC to automatically order groceries when your stock falls below-set levels. If you have an automated robot at home, you can instruct it to unlock the door of your house when a visitor knocks, after verifying his/her identity. And, if you have both a robot and a PC at home, you can expect your robot to open the door when the delivery boy brings your grocery items. Not just this, you can also expect your robot to check all delivered items, send an electronic acknowledgement to the grocery store, thank the delivery boy, close the door once he leaves, and after that store the purchases at their correct places. Devices with in-built sensors like refrigerators can be expected to notify your PC that new stocks have arrived and then your PC will start updating stock balances automatically and will pay the outstanding amount to the grocery store by issuing an instruction to your bank/credit card account. All these things would happen seamlessly without the need for your being at home. Amazing, isn’t it? Moreover, your PC can also send a notification alert about maintenance needed on your car, refrigerator or oven and can even text or call the technician to fix an appointment. The best part is that if the technician’s identity information is already stored with your robot, you don’t even need to be at home when the technician calls. This simply means that when a technician pays a visit to your house, you can plan to do something else even if that means you will be away from home. Won’t it be a pleasant surprise when you wake up and find that your smartphone has sent birthday wishes to some of your close friends automatically even when you had forgotten and were asleep? This after returning tired and exhausted from office and going to sleep straight away for a long time! With the internet of things, the possibilities of automating mundane tasks are seemingly endless. Hope you find this post interesting and helpful.
