Did you know that by 2019, consumer internet video traffic is forecast to be as much as 80% of all the consumer internet traffic worldwide? That is an incredibly high percentage and shows how powerful video as a medium has become compared to text and even images.
Within the same time period, consumer video-on-demand traffic is also predicted to double. It is believed that high definition will make up 70% of this as video quality advances. Video content lends itself to high levels of engagement with consumers with more than three in four consumers saying they bought a product or service, after watching a video.
What does this mean for brands and the wider business community? Essentially, video will dominate as a communications method. Brands have already begun implementing video with half of them already using video as part of their content marketing strategies.
